Das Phonestudy Projekt

Online Shopping, Tracking sportlicher Leistungen, Kommunikation mit Freunden? Not without my smartphone!

The smartphone has become our daily companion in a wide range of situations, and in each of these, we leave behind digital traces that provide insights about us. These everyday data reflect our daily experiences and behaviors, which is why we aim to use them for research purposes. In close collaboration, we, the interdisciplinary PhoneStudy team, contribute to research by employing state-of-the-art methods for smartphone tracking while adhering to the highest standards of data protection and transparency. With our PhoneStudy research app, we integrate research into everyday life, establishing the smartphone as a mobile and privacy-friendly research laboratory.

META-REP

We are part of the DFG-funded priority program META-REP, a meta-scientific initiative aimed at analyzing and optimizing replicability in the behavioral, social, and cognitive sciences.

This includes expertise in questionnaire design, requirements analysis, assessment of abilities, consultation on the selection of psychological testing methods, and the evaluation of questionnaires and diagnostic processes. Additionally, TestLab features its own computer-based research laboratory, equipped with modern psychological testing systems for assessing cognitive abilities and personality traits.

The benefits of collaborating with TestLab include the following:

  • Advantage of utilizing the latest research findings
  • High-quality standards
  • Independent consulting without commercial obligations
  • Guidance from qualified staff
